M’Pofo
African elephant
A young, African elephant who is always going on adventures with Lou-Anne. He is a gentle giant and often the voice of reason when one of the others gets carried away.
Marmalade
Cat
Marmalade is Lou-Anne's faithful feline companion. Wherever she goes, he's not far away. Stars in his own "Sunburnt cat" adventure, where he meets Lou-Anne for the first time.
Vakawu
Vervet Monkey
A wise yet somewhat silly vervet monkey who is constantly coming up with ideas. Some of which have to be curtailed by the other animals and Omi.
Batenga
Baboon
Batenga appears early on as a bit of a naughty character, but over time he becomes helpful and more thoughtful towards the others. Though he is often a little silly.
Buhala
Mongoose
One of the dynamic duo of mongooses. Very helpful and friendly, always ready to scamper off in search of something.
Kiera
A kangaroo who came to visit. She liked the Savannah so much that she stayed and hops into many adventures with Lou-Anne and her friends.
Omi
Grandmother
Lou-Anne's grandmother who always has good advice and tasty food waiting for Lou-Anne and her friends.
Opi
Grandfather
Opi is a wise grandfather who helps Lou-Anne and her friends get ready for adventures and has good advice for them.
Savannah friends
All the various animal friends that live at the baobab tree with Lou-Anne.

Rhinocerous
A grumpy rhinoceros who actually has a big warm heart. Appears in the very first edition of our stories with a thorn in his foot.
